ENGLAND : Premier League Betting Analysis 07/04/2013

Chelsea - Sunderland 1.36 - 10.75
Di Canio is now the new Sunderland coach. In my opinion, it was the right decision to sack O’Neill. He had definitely run out of ideas and Sunderland were going down. They may still get relegated, but now they at least have a glimmer op hope. Di Canio has to make better use of offensive players like S Larsson, A Johnson and Sessegnon than O’Neill managed, to get the Sunderland offence going again. Out for the season are S Fletcher and L Cattermole.

It was easy for Chelsea last night against Rubin. They were just too strong for the Russians. Torres played a strong game scoring two of their three goals. I still expect Demba Ba back for this game. Hazard and Oscar may also start again, but A Cole and G Cahill remain on their injury list. It is of course always likely that Chelsea will defeat a side like Sunderland, but I will not be involved. Sunderland will be pumped up, the new coach effect, you know. No bet game for me.

Liverpool - West Ham 1.36 - 10.01
How many lives to I have to live to get a decent price on the home win when Liverpool are playing at Anfield? They will probably win this home game, but who cares with odds like 1.36!

I mean West Ham had important players back last week and they looked strong winning 3-1 against WBA. Andy Carroll, who scored two goals last week, will not line up for West Ham in this game as he is on loan from Liverpool. Home winner.

Manchester Utd - Manchester City 2.29 - 3.60
Knocked out of the FA Cup this derby is the last high profile game for United this season. Fifteen points ahead of City in the league table they can be forgiven should they offer a couple of disengaged late season games. On Monday Man United will of course be highly motivated, but in mind is this idea that United have already played their best football this season. Expect fit again W Rooney and Rafael to play from the start. Vidic and J Evans are both touch and go.

City will face this derby with all their big names available again. City lost the first derby this season, but it was a 50/50 game and it will be the same open situation also on Monday. Consequently my choice has to be the outsider.

Newcastle - Fulham 2.10 - 4.00
Great game of football between Benfica and Newcastle. Newcastle hit the post twice and it was a bit harsh for the Geordies losing the match 1-3. To be fair fit again Newcastle keeper T Krul made some great saves on the night. Add Gouffran to the Newcastle squad for this match and it will probably be too soon for C Tiote and Debuchy.

This is a very important game for Newcastle, while for Fulham it will be more of a relaxed affair. Just the way the Fulham ace Berbatov wants it. He never was a man for the big games, but he is extremely useful for a middle of the table team like Fulham. S Sidwell will be missing for Fulham. 1X game.

Q P R - Wigan 2.41 - 3.25
The QPR defence is falling apart. In Redknapp’s first games QPR played some strong defensive games vs. top sides, but they had scoring problems. Now they cannot defend against teams like Aston Villa and Fulham (six goals conceded) and their strikers have a hard time compensating for their leaky defence. QPR were awfully poor in the first half against Fulham and you wonder why? Nerves of course, nothing else.

Wigan have won three of their last five league games, plus the great cup win at Everton, and at this very moment Wigan are on the right side of the relegation zone. I almost said, they are there too soon. Usually they are saving their Premiership status in the very last rounds.

Expect new twists in this drama, but for QPR it is beginning to look hopeless. Still a win here and they are only four points behind Wigan. Home winner.

Tottenham - Everton 1.95 - 4.65
Once again Everton have to play without the suspended Fellaini and S Pienaar. This is just the game that Fellaini would have liked.

Tottenham gave a way a lot of scoring chances to Basel last night and they clearly underestimated the Swiss. Someone said that Basel had twenty decent scoring chances in the match, away from home in Europe? The game ended 2-2 and Basel are now the favourites.

Tough night for Spurs. They lost Bale to an injury and he joins J Defoe on the sidelines. So now they are depending on Adebayor for goals. At this very moment I suggest that Tottenham risk coming fifth in the league. Key players absent in both teams and I settle for the draw. Why not 1-1!
