The Gunners failed in their pursuit to bring Cabaye to the Emirates Stadium as Newcastle United rejected a £10m bid and stood firm as they attempted to keep their star man in the northeast.
"I had wanted to play under Arsene Wenger last summer but unfortunately that was not the case,"
Cabaye said.
