Republic of Ireland - Austria Prediction 26/3/2013

Republic of Ireland - Austria 2.18 - 4.05

As expected we had to witness a terrible game of football when Sweden and Eire played out a 0-0 draw last week. Who is coaching Eire? Trapattoni of course and the Italian veteran coach was quite happy with an away point. Old habits never die and an away point is always something positive for an Italian. Sweden were there to be taken, but Eire played for the 0-0 draw. The Irish skipper and their leading goal scorer, Robbie Keane has been ruled out of this match, a big blow for sure. G Whelan is back in training and he could feature this time.
This has turned out to be a tricky game for me. I am almost allergic to backing Austria in their away fixtures, but making my choice here, I have to go against my principles. Austria are on their way up and they have a couple of exciting new faces in their squad. I am mostly thinking about their new young strikers P Hosiner and A Weimann. Hosiner, starting instead of the injured M Janko, scored twice vs. Faroe Islands. Janko will be available again for this game, M Harnik as well. Backing the away win.
